Calm Within: Mind Training and Meditation for Anxiety and Stress Reduction

Feeling overwhelmed by anxiety and stress? Join us in Rockland, Maine, for a supportive group experience designed to help you cultivate acceptance, address anxious thoughts, and explore the Zen practice of “don’t-know mind” to navigate uncertainty.

 

What We Offer:

​

  • Blended Techniques: combine Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with mindfulness practices, including sitting meditation and daily mindfulness exercises.

  • Cultivate Acceptance: learn to cope with your feelings and build resilience through acceptance-based techniques.

  • Address Anxious Thoughts: use CBT methods to address and reduce negative thinking patterns associated with anxiety.

  • Zen Practice: explore the Zen concept of “don’t-know mind” to foster openness and ease with uncertainty and ambiguity.

  • Shared Growth: connect with others in a supportive environment that encourages mutual understanding and shared experiences.​

 

Group Details:

​

  • Who: Open to 6-9 individuals (age 18 and up) looking to deepen their understanding of acceptance, reduce anxious thoughts, and develop effective coping strategies.

  • Facilitators:

    • Robert G. Schneider, MS, LCPC-C: Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (Conditional).

    • Manette Pottle: Experienced group facilitator.

  • Location: 17 Masonic Street, Rockland, ME 04841.

  • When: Wednesdays, 6:00 - 7:30 PM, from October 9th to December 11th, 2024 (except November 27).

  • Cost: $45 per 1.5-hour session. If cost is a concern, please contact us to discuss options.
