MY SPECIALTIES

ANXIETY

As a therapist specializing in the treatment of anxiety, my approach integrates evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed guided meditation. I believe in empowering individuals to understand and manage their anxiety by addressing the underlying thoughts and beliefs that contribute to their distress. Through CBT thought-record worksheets that you complete between session, we can identify and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, replacing them with more rational and balanced thoughts. Mindfulness practices help cultivate present-moment awareness, allowing individuals to observe their thoughts and emotions without judgment. Guided meditation serves as a powerful tool to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and develop a greater sense of calm. Together, we will work towards building resilience, developing practical coping strategies, and fostering a sense of inner peace and emotional well-being.

LOW SELF-ESTEEM

I take a strengths-based approach to helping individuals overcome low self-esteem and cultivate a positive sense of self. I believe that every person possesses unique strengths and inner resources that can be harnessed to foster personal growth and well-being. Through our work together, I guide clients in exploring their strengths, talents, and values, empowering them to recognize their worth and capabilities. We focus on building self-awareness, self-compassion, and self-acceptance, nurturing a foundation of positive self-esteem. Additionally, I address the concept of healthy narcissism, which involves developing a balanced and realistic sense of self-worth and self-love. By distinguishing healthy narcissism from unhealthy patterns, we explore ways to cultivate self-care, self-respect, and healthy boundaries. Utilizing evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral techniques, positive psychology, and self-reflective exercises, we challenge negative self-beliefs and replace them with empowering and affirming thoughts. We explore the role of self-talk, self-image, and self-care practices to enhance self-esteem and foster a positive self-concept. My aim is to create a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, discover their inherent strengths, and develop a genuine sense of self-worth. Together, we work towards cultivating a positive self-image, embracing personal growth, and fostering healthy narcissism as an essential aspect of self-care and well-being. By nurturing self-esteem and empowering individuals to recognize and celebrate their unique qualities, I assist clients in developing the resilience and confidence to navigate life's challenges with a positive and empowered outlook.

DESTRUCTIVE GROUP RECOVERY

In my counseling work with former members of destructive spiritual groups or cults, I provide a safe and nonjudgmental space for individuals to heal and recover from their experiences. Having personally experienced the dynamics and challenges of being part of such a group in my youth, I bring a deep understanding and empathy to my clients' journeys. My approach is rooted in compassion and acceptance, ensuring that clients feel supported and validated as they navigate the process of leaving behind a destructive spiritual environment. I work collaboratively with clients to explore strategies for rebuilding trust, improving communication, and fostering understanding in their personal relationships. We navigate the complexities of repairing and healing these connections, while also focusing on individuals reclaiming their sense of self and personal empowerment. My ultimate goal is to support clients as they embark on a journey of personal growth, healing, and reintegration into society, while nurturing healthy relationships and a fulfilling life beyond their past experiences.

SPIRITUAL BYPASS

Spiritual bypass is a term used to describe a coping mechanism where individuals use their spiritual beliefs or practices to avoid facing and dealing with their emotional and psychological issues. As a therapist, my goal is to support you in developing a more balanced and authentic relationship with your spirituality while also providing tools to address and process your underlying emotional challenges.

ANGRY OUTBURSTS

I specialize in helping individuals who struggle with angry outbursts find healthier ways of managing and expressing their emotions. Using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques, I guide clients on a journey of self-awareness, understanding, and healing. Through CBT, we explore the underlying thoughts, beliefs, and triggers that contribute to anger and outbursts. By identifying and challenging negative thought patterns, we can reshape and reframe perspectives, leading to more balanced and constructive responses. We also work on developing effective coping skills and anger management strategies to better navigate challenging situations. Mindfulness plays a vital role in this process by helping individuals cultivate present-moment awareness and non-judgmental acceptance of their emotions. Through mindfulness practices, clients learn to observe their anger without getting caught up in reactive patterns, allowing for greater self-regulation and emotional balance. Together, we create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can explore the root causes of their anger, heal past wounds, and develop healthier ways of expressing and managing their emotions. My goal is to empower clients to cultivate a sense of inner calm, enhance their communication skills, and build healthier relationships. Through our work together, individuals can experience transformative growth, finding greater peace, and emotional well-being.
